Causes of Belly Fat and Solutions!!!

Almost all of us – with the exception of those who diet and exercise religiously – have a little more of that ‘spare tire’ than we’d like. Belly weight gain is not on our short, or long, list of physical characteristics we’d like to retain. Choosing the best plan of attack against this unwanted poundage requires some analysis of how it got there to begin with. Perhaps the classic example of belly weight gain among men is the over-consumption of beer or fast food laden with carbs and fat. Among women, the childbearing years can do a number on that previously svelte belly. Consuming fatty goodies and lots of fast foods to accommodate our busy schedules can make the problem even worse. If you’re indulging in all of the above, you’ve got to address all of the factors that contribute to the over-indulged belly’s girth and put an end to the oversized belly!

Easier said, than done you say? Well, that’s why it’s important to do a correct analysis of your dietary infractions and then adopt a strict program to remedy that element. Just as important is initiating a regular program of exercise.

It’s only human nature to resist a regimen that makes you feel deprived and out of sorts. The trick to reducing that troublesome belly fat is to do so in manageable stages. Let’s say you regularly indulge yourself in three beers after work, or on the weekends. For the first week, try having just one beer. The next week, make it one every other day. Begin substituting a flavored water or other less caloric beverage. The same goes for the fast food and fatty snacks we all love. You can trim an enormous number of calories by making yourself do-ahead sub-style sandwiches you can grab out of the freezer at a moment’s notice. Let it thaw in the frig, apply your choice of sandwich dressing and you’re ready to eat in less time than it takes to stop in at the fast food place on your way home. Shop the deli sales and stock up on deli meats and cheeses. Instead of a bag of chips, try substituting a fruit cup, fresh fruit or one of those yummy flavored yogurts for a satisfying dessert that does not contribute to the dread belly weight gain.

The childbearing years do tend to increase one’s waist size! Unfortunately, we women have to be especially vigilant in choosing healthful, not fatty menu items that don’t all go right to your waist! Exercise is a definite must. Get in the habit of taking a daily walk or bike ride. You’ll soon get hooked on this activity, particularly after an evening meal. You might also enjoy a mix and match regimen, dividing your half-hour of daily exercise between walking, biking, swimming and a twice-weekly session of sit-ups and push-ups.

The real key to eliminating that belly weight gain lies in the consistency with which you practice your regimen. The bottom line is that reducing the calories you take in, while exercising to burn off existing belly fat is what ultimately brings the results that make you look great in a bathing suit. Keep at it and you win!
