Tone Your Abs With Simple Crunches

You do not need to buy those fancy machines or gym equipments that you see on television or online being offered. All you need is your body and you are set. Why waste your money when you can accomplish the task of toning your abdominal muscles without even using these equipments?

You can tone your abs by just performing simple crunches. Crunches are a much better alternative to working the abs because it does not put a lot of stress on the back and the neck.

Bicycle crunches are one of the most effective exercise that targets the ab muscles because it engages both the rectus abdominis and the obliques.

The exercise is simple. Lie facing up on the floor and put both hands on both sides of the head, supporting it lightly. The next step is to bring your left knee to your chest while lifting the shoulder blades off the mat, almost bringing the knee and the right elbow together.

Repeat the same process on the other side, the right knee towards the chest, almost touching the left elbow. Alternate the process. Continue this pedaling-like motion 12 to 16 repetitions in three sets.

After the exercise, you will really feel the burn on your ab muscles. This simple activity will tone your abs. Remember to perform your cardio 3 times a week, for 20 to 30 minutes. Together with a healthy, low sugar, low fat diet, you will be able to see results in no time!
